It is time equip yourself like a professional trader!
Do not go cheap on your trading computer! You need a fast computer with at least a Pentium i5 processor and 8 Gb of memory. The hard drive should be Solid State. Solid state drives [SSD] do not crash. Never defrag your SSD. You also need more than one screen. I trade best with 4 screens arranged in a quad mounted on an Ergotron rack. Multiple monitors will also require a high speed video card with plenty of memory. A quad video card is around $250. You need an adequate power supply and an good box with a powerful motherboard that contains plenty of card slots for various cards you might add later.
This computer is hard to find at Best Buy, Fry's, Micro Center or other retail electronics stores. You will not find the Ergotron there either. You may not even find good quad video cards at your local area even when you live in LA or NY. You may need to mail order and have it built by your "trusted" computer geek. The Best Buy Geeks know next to nothing about trading computers and multi monitors.
There are specialized trading equipment vendors available around the world; however, when you get ready, ask us for help finding them. We have a limited market even though their thousands of traders; therefore, there are only a handful of specialized computer builders who know how to put it all together.
Also, at this writing, I still recommend you stick with Windows 7 for your trading computer. Mac computers do not run our software; therefore, you must use Parallels or Bootcamp and getting your note book Mac to hold the proper resolution between it and your extended Thunderbolt can be a challenge. Although, I am living though the Mac thing right now because I believe in Apple and Mac, it is a challenge, not impossible, just a challenge... that I am getting close to solving.
